This weeks update:
On Tuesday 12/6/05, after seeing Alex's Orthopaedic Doctor, Alex will be getting Botox to both Hamstrings and to the Brachialis muscle and Brachioradialis muscle in his left arm. Dr. W. thinks that Alex will also do well with another dose of Phenol to both of his Adductors. His first dose in August was described as being " just a small touch to the nerve". Phenol is know to last 6 to 9 months, but I guess with only a small dose it wears off more quickly.
That same day was Elizabeth's "Winter Snapshots" performance at school and she did wonderfully! I did however miss the first 10 minutes and Elizabeth was a bit mad. (Massive amounts of eye rolling caught on tape) LOL
On Thursday 12/8/05, while discussing Alex's medical history with a the Nurse, I told her that Alex needed his inhaler last week because of his cough. Well, she informed me that Alex would have to be cold symptom free for 2 weeks before any procedure under anesthesia . So Alex's Botox was canceled for 12/13/05. I was told it should not take too long to get another appointment, because of all the cancellations due to colds.
On Friday 12/9/05 we all went to the local mall to see Santa! This is the first time Alex DID NOT CRY!!! I think he really liked Santa, and of course Elizabeth loved seeing him again. We were pleasantly surprised when the staff asked us to move to the front of the line so Alex would not get tired. What a nice gesture.
I guess that sums up my week....Take care and enjoy the snow!
